This certificate considers the special concept of an authentic ayurvedic spa in India or Sri Lanka as well as an European spa concept with spezialisation in ayurvedic treatments:

The Ayurveda SPA Europe Certificate is awarded in three grades:
Ayurveda is a natural healing science from India and Sri Lanka, originating more than 4000 years ago. Ayurveda is not only a medical system which can prevent and heal diseases but also a science of living and life. Its focus is to create a stable balance in body and mind through diet and lifestyle adaption. So harmony and balance of the so called doshas vatha, pitta and kapha in ayurvedic science is the primary condition of good health. And individual and person related ayurvedic treatment concepts should help the guest /patient to reach this goal.
For western educated people it is not easy to find the entrance to this way of thinking and behaviour. Typication and pulse diagnoses are no diagnostic features which convince the traditional western patient. Nevertheless there are quite a few provable examples existing that ayurvedic treatments have healed or enhanced existing health problems which could not be solved by western medicine.
The medical board of European Audit institute Wellness & Spa (General practioner, urologist, surgeon, specialist natural medicine) has defined criteria which allow origional ayurvedic centers in Sri Lanka and India as well as European spas with ayurvedic spezialisation to apply for certification by EAWS and reach the Ayurveda Spa Europe Certificate.
Additional to the EAWS Basic-Criteria, Ayurveda SPA hotels and Resorts offer attractive and authentic equipment and activities as well as a differentiated ayurvedic concept with high treatment standard in technique and service.
Additional specified Ayurveda SPA criteria*:
- Ayurveda therapy is an integrated concept for lifestyle, prevention, therapy,and health supporting measures.
- This includes (especially for original ayurvedic spas in Asia): authentic ambience and natural atmosphere and surrounding
- Ayurveda concepts and therapies have to be applied under a medical doctor supervision by qualified specialist and with a clear prevention- and therapy goal, only.
- The ayurvedic doctor must be university graduated as such, the therapist have provable external education
- The medical ayurvedic conceptof an Ayurveda Center includes: Examination (anamnesis + physical) including typification + discussion of the results, individual therapy concept, feedback discussion with written remarks and proposals for home.
- Clean and allergen promoting fresh air for outside- and terrain treatments require no close location to industry parks or factories with high pollution emissions.
- An Ayurveda SPA Center offers additional and accompanying preventive health promoting offers especially in the following areas: feel-good relaxation, vitalizing activity and nutrition
- A certified Hotel or facility with a quality Ayurveda SPA Center offers an in its entirety noticeable health promoting concept within the hotel.
- This entire concept includes treatments and services according to scientific research and standards, quality vital-nutrition-offers as well as the highest standards in guest-orientation and service-quality of all employees.
- The European Treatment Standard is adequately implemented in the Ayurveda Spa.
