The European Audit Institute Wellness & SPA was founded in April 2008 (as EAWS SCE). Basis of the EAWS is the integration of wellness experts and wellness organisations from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The legal form is an international association without any intentions to make profit.
Members of the EAWS superviser team for certification quality are:
- Physicians spezialized in General Medicine, Natural Medizine, Sports Medizine, Surgery
- MBAs
- Hotel experts
- QM experts of health and leisure industry
Head of the institute is Dr. Hans Joerg Schmeisser MBA, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland the only publicly certified and sworn expert for wellness concepts and wellness facilities. Dr. H J Schmeisser has worked as a general practicioner with specialisation in sports medicine and natural medicine and has a university degree in business administration (MBA).
Audit Competence of external auditors
All EAWS-contracted audits are supervised by Dr. Hans Jörg Schmeisser MBA the director of the institute, who stands with his signature and name as publicly certified and sworn expert for neutrality and objectivity and for publicly proven wellness competence.
The EAWS contracts independent external wellness experts as Auditors!
Tthe EAWS as certifying party does not accomplish the audits of wellness establishments. All EAWS-contracted external audit teams are carefully examined and trained for wellness facility and wellness hotel audits. Only experienced and highly competent auditors are testing for the EAWS:
This includes besides of professional competency also additional own hotel experience as guests in 4**** or 5**** hotels; this experience is obligate to be able to compare international quality standards.
All EAWS-contracted auditor teams for the certification category medical spa include at least one physician with long lasting professional experience. All auditors – mostly university graduated – have additional and special competency in the following areas:
- Medicine
- Wellness and SPA
- Hotel business
- Business administration
- Quality management
- Auditing
All audits associated with the certification procedure will be carried out as mystery checks, only.
